This session is hosted by Malcolm Ryder
Theme: PICTURING THE STREET
We tend to think of being on the street as being “in” a place called The Street, a place that has its own ambience and ethos. And usually we are not thinking of wide-open spaces like rural or industrial areas. But after 100 years of street photography, what’s interesting is how enduring our interest is in the ways it has not changed, and how it can change from time to time if the shooter does a new mix of persona, tools and location – a new story or a new environment.
Join me in surveying what goes under the “Street” umbrella; for example, the street as:
· a place with a boundary as strong as any interior;
· a frontier or oasis;
· a state of mind or a culture.
Each Show & Tell session features photographers presenting their work around a common theme. What photo projects are you working on? Share with us. Not a critique, just a chance to share your latest work with friends.
